The Honecker Bunker in Wandlitz close to Berlin

Visitor at the map room inside the Honecker Bunker. The map room (or situation room) is located in the container of Platform 4. This would have been the place where the East German political leaders under the direction of Erich Honecker would have met in times of crisis to decide on the course of the war and thus on the fate of millions of people. Even though everything has been removed apart from the carpet and the sliding projection panels, it still gives you a funny feeling being here. Fortunately, though, the cold war is a thing of the past and we are now in an historic building and no longer in a politico-military command centre.
